American International College

AIC is the first of 3 schools I visited in Springfield, Mass. The locals joke that AIC stands for "almost in college" but that's pretty unfair. It does make 'Harvard on the Hudson' seem less offensive, doesn't it?
AIC is a small (1700 students) private college that wants to get a little bigger. As a result, it would be possible for a C student to get in. Nursing is the #1 major here and they also offer a business program through the MBA as well as teacher education and other Liberal Arts choices. There is strong support for learning disabled students here.
Originally a college for immigrants, it is still a very diverse campus. Many students choose to go home on weekends so the campus is even more quiet then. At less than 2 hours from here, going home would be an option for VVille students as well.
